Welcome to Becoming. Yoga. This is a sacred space where you have the opportunity to still your mind and calm your body using breath and movement, giving yourself the possibility of healing and wholeness.
The beauty of yoga is that it’s available for everyone. The powerful tools cultivated in the yoga room can be applied on and off the mat. On the mat we learn to be present and use the breath to calm the mind and nervous system. Yoga can be a spiritual practice incorporating meditation or prayer which can allow deep healing.
Books such as The Body Keeps the Score, written by Psychiatrist Bessel Van Der Kolk,M.D. have transformed how trauma, depression and anxiety are treated. Science has proven yoga and meditation are innovative treatments for healing trauma (PTSD,CPTSD), depression and anxiety.
Becoming. Yoga offers many styles of yoga including: yin, restorative, slow flow and trauma sensitive yoga (TSY). Sessions are available individually or as a small group. Our goal at Becoming. Yoga is to create a space where you will find hope and healing.
